War
What is War?
But us versus them.
What is War?
But a silencing of voices and their freedom of self-determination
that undermines the power-hungry from satisfying their urges.
What is War?
But a chess game that the weak and embittered play
to exploit the bravery of men as a vehicle to force submission.
What is War?
But an excuse for an unjust ruler to call ‘treachery’
on those opposed to partaking in prejudice, xenophobia, inhumane acts
insidiously veiled as national pride.
What is War?
But a cowardly act of defiance at the expense of millions of lives
purely because you didn’t get your way.
Trauma acting out.
What is War?
But the the use of diplomats to articulate intolerance, hatred, insecurity, fascism, fear
as national autonomy, independence, and integrity.
What is War?
But a conquering of the people
by stamping on their very soul a story
they cannot, will not, know not how to escape from.
What is War?
But a colourful painting of greens, and reds, and smoke, and rubble
emblazoned with soothing propaganda
and adorned on the walls of tyrants
as a proud reminder of their conquests.
What is War?
But the end, and not the beginning, of the fall of democracy.
A process of indoctrination, of unrelenting hatred and vilification of ‘the other’
slowly but surely turning malignant and infesting.
What is War?
The coming of a new world order?
The catalyst for a peace that needed War for it to be recognised as missing?
War is War.
But remember, dawn always breaks after the darkest night.
And in that night, we fight.
With our words, our actions, our spirit, our unity.
To bring in a new dawn, a new world
for those who replace us once we are gone.
War is War.
Peace, humility, love is more.
