A Tether

We are tethered. We are chained.

To the unknown. To the rhythmic pull of life. To the endless possibilities of our imaginations and where life may take us. We are tethered.

To the invisible umbilical cord of the creation mother. To the Gods who came before us, and to those we may not know. We are tethered.

To our birth in the stars, to our birth on this earth.

To the flight of the Valkyries as they rage through the heavens choosing who enters the gates of Valhalla.

To the weighing of our heart and souls by Anubis before we pass to the afterlife.

To Heimdall, who stands at the edge of the realms, watching as we cross from shadow into light.

To Isis, who gathers what has been broken, who breathes magic into ruin, and cradles the soul through every death and becoming.

We are tethered to the ancient scrolls and scriptures and tapestries of existence. To the knowledge that has now become a cage.

We are tethered to a universe of which we know nothing.

To our place in the void. And in this void we rage, we fight, we flicker, we destroy.

We are tethered to a world that does not wait for us to ask before it inflicts horrors or miracles onto us.

We are tethered to a spite and resistance and revolution that emboldens our survival or causes our demise.

To the death of our physical existence which becomes our marriage to eternity.

But there is a tether that is different. Where we are freed. We are eternal. We surrender.

Where we see all but we remain detached.

We are tethered to unchained version of ourselves that exist beyond our limitations. To the potential we see. To our future selves.

To a new place in this void. Where we create, we love, we dream, we step into the light.

Where we move out of the chains and the shackles. Where the machinations and ruses cast down on us by the fallen angels no longer affect us.

Where we are tethered to a freedom to resonate, to exist side-by-side with energies that awaken us and breathe life into us once more.

But not the physical life.

A godly life. A spiritual life where we become.

Where we are tethered to hearts that beat in rhythm with our own, to eyes that see the light in us and never look away.

To angels who have walked beside us through fire, through silence, through the slow bloom of becoming.

Tethered to the unseen thread that does not pull, but pulses

Softly, endlessly

with the truth of who we are when we are not afraid.

Tethered to a silent knowing between kindred souls, drawn together across lifetimes, across galaxies of longing.

Tethered to those who teach us that the strongest bond is the one that holds without holding.

And in this tether, we are no longer bound. We are no longer lost. We no longer wonder over the weighing of our souls.

Whether we did right or wrong. Whether we did enough.

We are no longer searching. We simply are.

Unburdoned by fate. We realise. We are the conduit. We are the connectors.

We become the very love that connects us and the light that sets all tethers free.
